Owner Augie Bonanno, who has already brought Leaf superstar Mat Sundin in for a well attended visit, said he plans to bring a steady stream of sports stars through the store, including several Blue Jays over the next few weeks. His goal, he said, is to provide a venue for fans to meet the stars in a less commer cial and more per sonal setting, something he is able to do because o f his good contacts in the local profes sional sports scene. He is a partner in a Markham auto dealership and that's how he began rubbing shoulders with professional ath letes. "I used to sup ply all the guys (professional ath letes) with cars," he said. Soon, he was acquiring memo rabilia, such as signed photos, jackets, sweaters, bats, balls sticks and pucks. He soon found others around him were also interested, and that's when he decided to open a store. Everything in the store, he added, is fully licensed. He and his wife Carmen, and their two kids, are longtime Oakville residents. Back next year (Cont. from page 17) with a 13-12 nail biter over B u r l i n g t o n ' s Nelson High m m V / .
