According to police, a man entered the Wasaga Variety Store on Monastery Road around 8:50 p.m. and demanded money from the clerk while pointing a gun at him. The weapon is des cribed as having a 15-inch barrel with a very small muz zle hole. A quantity of cash was obtained by the thief, who put it in a white cloth bag with thin handles then fled the store. No car was seen in the area. The clerk was not physi cally injured during the rob bery. Police canine and tactical units conducted a search of the area without success. The suspect is described as male, approximately 20 years of age, 5-feet 9-inches tall, with brown-coloured skin, a medium build and dark brown eyes. He spoke with a noticeable accent of unknown origin. The suspect was wearing a pinkish/purple nose-cone with integrated collar (com monly used by snowmobilers) which covered the lower part of his face, a white wool toque, dark-coloured hooded sweatshirt/jacket which had two striped bands on both sleeves above the elbow, grey gloves, light-coloured track pants or jeans and a black backpack. Watson to produce an updated Capital Strategic Plan to track popula tion growth and demographics around Halton. to determine future facility needs.
