RBC renewed its commitment to Halton District School Board (HDSB) students with a gift of $40,000 to support the board's Mental Health and Addiction Strategy. The funds were to be put to immediate use in supporting the board's Mental Health Symposium this month. The outcome of the symposium will include increasing mental health literacy across the school board, one of four targets identified in its mental health strategy. It will also ensure every school has a resource tool kit designed to promote student mental health during Children's Mental Health Week May 4-10. The board says research shows student mental health and well-being impacts school performance, attendance and achievement.
