- The prosperous farm of Jacob and Mary Ann Colton was at Munn's Corners, Concession 1, Lot 17. Jacob purchased it before his marriage in 1854. They had nine children:
1. George William, b.August 31, 1857 d.January 2, 1947. On January 4, 1882 married Annie Teresa Cline, b.January 10, 1861 d.October 6, 1923.
2. Miriam Jane, b.July 1, 1858 d.June 5, 1936. On September 20, 1899 she married John Albert Hall, b.December 21, 1865 d.October 10, 1942.
3. Marvin Ward, b.December 1,1860 d.August 28, 1944. Married Mary Isabelle (Minnie) Seed on January 14, 1890. b.December 26, 1869 d.April 10, 1961.
4. John Bingham, b.December 27, 1862 d.May 7, 1911. On July 16, 1890, he married Hettie Matilda Munn, b. January 14, 1871 d.March 10, 1953.
5. James Wilbert, b.August 24, 1864 d.February 2, 1942. Married Agnetta Grace Stout on January 30, 1886. She was born on May 13, 1865, d.January 24, 1936.
6. Thomas Bethel, b.June 23, 1866 d.June 16, 1937. He married twice. First to Eliza Jane Pearce, b.July 10, 1873 d.January 28, 1912. Then, on October 20, 1920, he married Ethel Martha Notley.
7. Ida Mary, b.January 25, 1868, d.September 24, 1948. She married Victor Albert Stephens on December 17, 1890. He was born on May 17, 1867, died January 23, 1928.
8. Charles Herbert, b.April 19, 1871 d.November 19, 1946. On May 19, 1897, he married Elsie Sutton, b. February 27, 1874 d.April 29, 1954.
9. Alfred Franklin, b.July 11, 1873, d.November 17, 1954. Married Rosie Lafontaine on June 28, 1899. She was born on April 6, 1874, died February 8, 1938.
