39 · Friday, March 26, 2010 OAKVILLE BEAVER · www.oakvillebeaver.com EARTH HOUR We're in. Are you? PRINTER EMPTY? Hotels are the newest addition to `green friendly' businesses Oakville's own Fairfield Inn Marriott, located south of the QEW off Winston Churchill Blvd at 2937 Sherwood Heights Drive, is one of the many hotels in Canada that are turning toward these practices. "We began implementing green practices into the hotel over a year ago," General Manager Eddie Stark explains. "Since implementing the carbon off set program, our customers truly appreciate the efforts we are taking to help the environment." Implementing programs such as Livclean Eco Stay Program, a hotel-wide recycling program and a linen re-use program where guests can choose whether or not they would like their towels and bed linens to be cleaned on a daily basis, has earned Fairfield a three key green rating by the Hotel Association of Canada. Looking to increase their green rating Stark has many other plans to bring more energy efficiency to the hotel. "We are looking to add energy conservation to our list of programs," he explains. "We want to add motion detectors to our rooms to help with temperature control." To experience the difference Fairfield Inn Marriott offers call 905-829-8444 or visit www.marriott.com/yyzto.
