The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders improved to 4-1 in Halton league play with a 17-0 blanking of the T.A. Blakelock Tigers Friday at Blakelock. The Raiders' victory, coupled with the Holy Trinity Titans' 39-15 loss at home to the Nelson Lords, moved Aquinas a game ahead of Trinity in the overall league standings. Defence continued to be the key for the Raiders against Blakelock. Taylor Vander Doelen led Aquinas in sacks and tackles, Luke Kahnert recovered a fumble and Mario Cacioppo intercepted a pass. Aquinas quarterback Zack Aleluia led a pair of touchdown drives in the second half, capped off by TD runs by Josh Ruys and Chris Knap. Alex Kuntz booted two converts and a field goal for the Raiders.
