Lynn Borysiuk's latest artwork will be featured in a solo exhibition entitled Endangered Landscapes from Sept. 18 to Nov. 6 as part of the Artworks program at Ristorante Julia, 312 Lakeshore Rd. E. The opening reception will be held on Saturday, Sept. 20 from 2 to 4 p.m. In this exhibition, Borysiuk's captures and preserves tranquil images of working farms and rural Ontario, which are rapidly disappearing and being replaced by residential development. Borysiuk has studied at the Ontario College of Art and Design as well as the Haliburton School of the Arts. Her paintings have won awards in juried art exhibitions and her work is included in private collections throughout Canada and the United States. Young People's Concerts The Young People's Concerts series kicks off on Oct. 12 at 2 p.m. at the Royal Botanical Gardens, 680 Plains Rd. West, Burlington. The series, called Musical Discoveries -- A European Tour, is sponsored by the Hamilton-Halton Branch of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association. New gallery show Abbozzo Gallery is hosting a new exhibition of works from the estate of Tom Chatfield (1921-1999), a well-known Oakvillebased painter, teacher and mentor. The show comprises of more than 20 works depicting the Bronte area of Oakville. Chatfield captured the people and activities of typical days at the lakeside in Bronte and the surrounding neighbourhood. The exhibition is completed by several paintings of general stores, houses and people of southern and central Ontario.
