Dean Parro, of Jack LaFontaine Sales Ltd. is conducting business as best he can on his laptop after thieves popped the lock on his door and plundered his office making off with three computers, two digital cameras and a number of other valuables. "They came in, went to my back room, cut all the wires out and grabbed all the computers. They went through everyone's drawers. In the back room, I had a big old suitcase that we use for samples, so they grabbed that, filled it with all our stuff and then took their time getting out," said Parro. The thieves also emptied the office garbage cans on the floor so they could use the garbage bags to transport the merchandise. Parro, who was attending a presentation when the break in occurred, says the theft appears random as the thieves apparently knocked on the doors of a number of other businesses at the Cornwall Business Centre before settling on his office when no one answered. As the Cornwall Business Centre has surveillance cameras at all entrances and exits, two suspects were videotaped entering the building, as well as leaving through a side exit, one carrying a suitcase, the other carrying a filing box, The second suspect was described as wearing a gray and black hooded sweatshirt with a blue collared shirt underneath. Back at Jack LaFontaine Sales Ltd. Parro is struggling to repair the damage the thieves have done to his business. "All the sales people lost everything," he said. CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Security cameras at the Cornwall Business Centre caught these suspects on tape shortly before Jack LaFontaine Sales Ltd. was robbed. The apparent laid back attitude of the suspects on the tape has Parro's blood boiling. Other aspects of the suspects' behaviour proved just as perplexing. "The girl down the hall, they knocked on her glass door and were kind of hitting on her, so she was the one who originally gave us a description," said Parro. The timing of the thieves is also raising eyebrows as they struck at 4:02 p.m. during business hours on a weekday afternoon. "I can't believe at four in the afternoon in an executive office tower they'd walk in and bust a door when anyone could have walked by. On this floor alone there's probably 15 businesses," said Parro. Police also see the behaviour as unusual. "Most of the break-ins that we investigate are overnight or over the weekend when the business was unoccupied but this was at 4:02 in the afternoon so it's not something we've investigated lately," said Detective Constable Joe Barr, of the Halton Police Break and Enter Unit. The casual manner in which the suspects were dressed also seems strange to Parro given their choice of target. "I could understand going somewhere where other people are dressed in jeans, but the majority of the people here are lawyers, so it's all three piece suits and then these two come in looking like Eminem." Halton Police say all this strange behaviour points to amateur hour. "They make no attempt to conceal their identities whatsoever," said Barr. "We're looking for two white males around the age of 25, both with short dark hair. One with a white T-shirt with `Graffiti Changed My Life' written on it. He was wearing a New York Yankees ball cap." Munn's Creek Park re-opens Munn's Creek Park playground is back in business today. After closing last week when eight razor blades were found in the playground's mulch, Oakville Parks and Open Space staff and Halton Regional Police say the playground is now safe. The orange fence closing off the park is set to be removed today, though Town staff will monitor and check the playground every day for the rest of the week to ensure a safe environment.
