Oakville‘s Business School 338â€"6600 _ Waterfront Festival Rain turned to sunshine as the third. annual Oakville Waterfront Festival improved with the weather. The Oakville Skating Club opened its Summer Ite Show at Coronation Park with a country line dance, on a 50â€"byâ€"50â€"foot space age surface called ‘glice,‘ courtesy of the Toronto CNE. This was the first time the CNE loaned its ‘glice‘ to an off site event. The skating show, seen by more than 4,000 people, was one of highlights of this year‘s Festival. One of the other ‘high lights‘ was a colorful fireworks display, choreographed to music, staged over Coronation Park on Saturday night â€" also seen by thousands. More Festival photos appear on page 14. (Photos by Riziero Vertolli, above, and Barrie Erskine) It‘s the Canada Day long weekend, a time for picnics and backyard barbecues.
