Bronte Horticultural Society: Through the Years
A Story Behind the Story
The year was 1999. We moved from Walton United Church to the Bronte Harbour Yacht Club. In the process, our filing cabinet was opened for the first time in many years. Minutes, going back to our first meeting, came marching out.

When I heard about this treasure, I was excited and remarked casually to a member on the executive that I would like to go through the records and write "The Story."

The President, Ilse Csefko, contacted me and very soon she was at my door with all of the books. She agreed it was okay to take them to Florida where my husband, Bill, and I wintered. Bill golfed five mornings a week so I was free to do my own thing - research!
When I returned home to Oakville, a good friend who was experienced in cataloguing entered my research information on the computer for me. Then I put it together and let Staples finish the job.

For me, it was a real joy, like watching a rosebud unfold. I am thankful for the opportunity and the patience to have done this.
