DORVAL COMING TO BIG OPENING
OAKVILLE- The mayor of Dorval, Quebec, and eight other citizens of Oakville's twin municipality will be among those at the opening of the new Centennial civic centre on Saturday afternoon. Also represented will be the Ontario department of education and the provincial library service.
This information was conveyed to the Centennial project committee by Ronald Cooksley, Oakville industrial commissioner, who is in charge of program arrangements. The 2 p.m, ceremony, which will be conducted by Hon. Earl Rowe, Ontario's lieutenant - governor, will be preceded by a luncheon at the Holiday Inn for Mr. Rowe and 26 others who will take part.
Substituting for Mayor McLean Anderson, who is on vacation in Barbados, will be Reeve Herbert Merry. Councillor R. J. (Kelly) New, chairman of the Centennial project committee, will have a leading part in the proceedings, and Bill Walker of Oakville, popular television personality, will be master of ceremonies. After the ceremony the lieutenant-governor and his suite will be conducted on a tour of the library building by Donald Bath, chairman of the public library board.
