Charles R. Sumner

For several years, Charles R. Sumner, of London, had been poorly with heart trouble but of late had felt better. On Saturday he went to his jewelry store but soon began to feel weak. He returned home and retired but about midnight the end came.

Mr. Sumner was an Oakville boy having been born here sixty-six years ago, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. J. Sumner. After completing school he started to train for a jeweler in Toronto. Later he went to Seaforth and finally to London. He established the business of C. R. Sumner & Sons. He frequently visited Oakville and retained his friendship with a number of boyhood chums.

Mr. Sumner was a prominet Mason and advanced to the 32nd degree. He was a member of the United church.

Mrs. Chas. F. Doty and Miss T. H. Sumner, of Oakville, are sisters.
