Our 75th Anniversary Celebration

Brenda read notes from Joan Leslie (holidaying down South), highlighting the 75 years Bronte Horticultural Society had been in existence. We were told that when Joan's research and history notes have been completed, they will be made up into a booklet.

Brenda then introduced the speakers.......

Bill Cudmore, previous owner of Cudmore's Garden Centre and member of an old Bronte family; and Past Presidents, Vince Paschal, Lorne Sparrow, Wib Lang, Irene Bumby and Joyce Scruton, who all gave an incite into Bronte and the Bronte Horticultural Society through their personal experiences. Ted Penwill and Jack Laurie sent their regrets. Earle Walker, a long-time associate at the administration level of District 6, also attended our celebration, and gave his best wishes and congratulations.

We then had a lucky draw with eight extra-special prizes. After a singing of "Happy Birthday to Us" we finished the evening with mouth-watering snacks and a beautifully decorated anniversary cake.

The meeting ended at approximately 10 p.m.
