TWENTY-NINE GIRL GUIDES DO THEIR GOOD DEED!
The Coronation District of the Girl Guides participated in a planting of flowering bulbs in anticipation of Spring 1981.
With the co-operation of Barbara McAlpine and Helen Buchanan the planting was done in the landscaped areas of Woodside Library.
Mrs. Stimson, District Commissioner, assembled the Guides at the Library site.
Diane D'Angelis and Connie Black, leaders of 34th Girl Guides Company brought 8 Guides.
Mrs. Grant brought 14 Guides from the 22nd Company.
Mrs. Eix brought 7 members of the 27th Company.
In all twenty-nine Girl Guides enthusiastically laid out the locations, dug the holes, applied the fertilizer, popped in the bulbs and covered them up to await the Spring blossoming of 'Fusilier' and 'Centennial' Tulips.
Bronte Horticultural Society had the privilege of sponsoring this event as part of their Public Interest Program which included bulb plantings at E.A. Orr School, Westbrook School and St. Dominic's School.
Ed Small and Bob Kennedy provided the horticultural advice.
