THOMPSON, Trevor Ernest Alexander Born November 16th, 1931 in Bangor, N. Ireland. Died December 25th, 2012 in Oakville, Ont. It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Trevor. He was a modest man who dearly loved his wife, Elizabeth, children Lorraine, Bob (Linda), and Valerie (Robert) and his "Grand" children George, Olivia, Christian, J o e y, a n d Z a r a . Tr e v o r w a s predeceased by his parents, Bob and Tote, his brothers Jim and Bobby, and by his sister Winifred. He is survived by his brother Bertie of Bangor, N. Ireland. He will be fondly remembered by his relatives in N. Ireland, England, USA, and Australia. Long time employee of Kmart Canada. Founding member and coach of minor soccer in Oakville. Served on the Board of the Oakville Humane Society, Family Service Bureau, Oakville Red Cross, Probus of Old Oakville, and Rotary We s t . Vo l u n t e e r a t O T M H a n d Oakville Red Cross. Aside from his family, Trevor loved the Toronto Argos, Buffalo Bills, Cryptic Crosswords, the English language, and singing. He was a member of Knox Church Choir for 45 years, and of the Canadian Orpheus Male Choir. To celebrate Trevor's life a service will be held on Friday January 11th, 2013 at 11:00 am, at Knox Presbyterian Church, 89 Dunn St. (at Lakeshore) in Oakville. Reception to follow. The family would like to thank the caring staff at Wyndham Manor who looked a f t e r Tr e v o r w i t h k i n d n e s s a n d compassion for the last 9 months of his life. Those wishing, can make a memorial donation to Halton Alzheimer's Society or Acclaim Health Oakville.
