STEPHEN MICHAEL STASKO November 7, 1957 - August 25, 2012 It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Stephen on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the age of 54 years due to heart failure. Beloved husband of Natalie (nee Cunningham) and loving father of Jennifer (deceased), Danielle and Gregory. Son of Michael Joseph Stasko (deceased) and Eleanor Rossler (deceased), stepson of Donna Stasko. Adored brother of Andrew and Debby. Son-in-law of William Cunningham and Sylvia Graham, Marilyn Wiley and John Elka. Predeceased by Aunt Ann Pazur. Stephen will be greatly missed by his sister-in law Heather Spencer, her husband Peter, their children Laura, James and Kaitlin; Uncle Joseph and Aunt Nancy Stasko; cousins Sasha, Becky, Jodie, Michael, Joey, Allan, David and Richard. Born in Toronto on November 7, 1957 Steve became a seasoned world traveller at a young age, living in Mexico, Holland and Australia in his early years. A graduate of Lorne Park Secondary School in Mississauga, he went on to MCMaster University and the University of Toronto, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. After graduation he joined Sentrol Systems, moving on to Pennwalt, ABB, Atochem. In 1990 Steve joined Invensys (Foxboro) and enjoyed a 22 year career in process control system sales. Steve leaves behind many dear friends and colleagues at Invensys who will miss his professionalism, coaching, and unwavering dedication to customer relationships. Steve was very well liked by many of his customers who he touched over the years, such as OPG Nanticoke, Lennox, Thunder Bay, and Bruce Power. He will be sadly missed by all at Invensys. Steve and Natalie met at a ski club in the winter of 1981 and immediately hit it off. After a courtship of five years, they married in the summer of 1987. Their first daughter Jennifer was born and passed away in April 1995. After a healing vacation in Hawaii, they were delighted to welcome daughter Danielle into the world in May 1996. Danielle was joined by brother Gregory in April 1998. Steve and Natalie have enjoyed a busy and fulfilling life together raising their family and supporting each other's careers. Steve was very proud of the academic, artistic and sport achievements of his children. On July 4th of this year, Steve and Natalie celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary and looked forward to many more happy years together as parents, life partners and best friends. Steve developed a passion for golf, celebrating a hole-inone at the Princeville Prince Course, Kawaii on his birthday in 2000. After several years of camping with his family, Steve's focus moved to power boating on Georgian Bay. Boating was his passion and at times was all he talked about. Wonderful friendships quickly followed at Bay Port Yachting Centre, Midland. Steve particularly enjoyed having a "contractor drink" with Alvin and Maureen Douglas. In July, Steve, Gregory and Cleo the boat dog shared a special excursion to Killarney. Steve was known for his "iconic" mustache and dry sense of humour. He maintained many long-lasting friendships across Canada, the U.S.A. and Australia. He was loved by all. A celebration of Stephen's life will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at 11 a . m . a t OA K V I E W F U N E R A L H O M E , 5 6 L a k e s h o r e R d . W. , O a k v i l l e (905-842-2252).
