BARBER, Harry (Shorty)

Passed away peacefully on August 29, 1998 at Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital at 73. Long time resident of Oakville, retired Letter Carrier. Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #486. Member of the Veteran Service League of Hamilton. Served overseas with the Royal Canadian Air Force. Beloved husband of Catherine (Kay) Barber, his wife of 50 years. Will be missed by Frank, Cheryl (B.C.), Dianne, Gord Bacon (St. Thomas), Andrew, Donna (Burlington), Cathie, Gary Hall (Emsdale), Ken, Kendra (Burlington), Jim, Sheila (Edmonton), Sue, Ron Hill (St. Albert, Alta.), Tim (Sudbury) and Wayne, Maxine (Emsdale). Sadly missed by his twenty seven grand-children and four great grand-children. Survived by his brothers Albert Wintonyk (Angie) and Bill Barber both of Hamilton. Predeceased by his brother Victor and sister Vera both of Manitoba. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and his Aunt Mary Bossuyt (Oak Bluffs, Manitoba). With special thanks to all the doctors and nurses at Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, with special thanks to Dr. Blair Lamb. Friends may call at the Oakview Funeral Home, 56 Lakeshore Road West (one block east of Kerr St.) Oakville on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service to be held in the Chapel on Thursday September 3, 1998 at 11a.m. Legion Service to be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. Private family interment to take place in Exeter, Ontario. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
