Dr. Ralph Hicken Invitational Swim Meet in Etobicoke. OAK finished first in the girls' competition with 3,822 points to Etobicoke's 3,568 but the results were reversed on the boys' side with Etobicoke scoring 4,400 to Oakville's 3,630. Etobicoke took the overall title with 7,968 points and Oakville was second with 7,452. The Toronto Swim Club was third and the Mississauga Aquatic Club was fourth. Included in the new club standards was the girls 4x50-metre freestyle relay team, which broke a 34-year-old record. Annie Harrison, Marni Oldershaw, Julie Sinkovits and Mika Spencer posted a time of one minute, 54.19 seconds, shattering the record of 1:55.54 which was set in 1974. Oldershaw, 13, also set a club record in the 100m backstroke, one of her seven gold medals. She also won a pair of silver medals. Michelle Gervais established a pair of club records, in the 100m butterfly and the 200m individual medley. Gervais, 10, earned seven medals -- four gold, two silver and one bronze. Mack Darragh also set two new club marks, in the 800m freestyle and the 50m backstroke. Darragh, 14, won eight gold medals and two silvers. Tera Van Beilen set an OAK record in the 50m breaststroke and returned from the meet with three sets of medals. The 15-year-old won three gold, three silver and three bronze. Mitchell Gour, 12, won 11 medals (two gold, four silver and five bronze) and set a new OAK standard in the 50m backstroke. Kent Kikot, 14, won 11 medals, including five golds. He also earned four silvers and two bronze medals. Gamal Assaad, 12, captured six gold medals and three silvers. Other medalists were: Girls 10-and-under: Abbey Saunders, gold; Abbey Saunders, gold; Alexandra Fabugais-Inaba, silver; Hannah Hunt, bronze; Emily Ramier, bronze; Olivia Sinclair, bronze. Girls, age 11: Meghan Clark, bronze; Meredith Johnson, bronze. Girls, age 12: Cassandra Pedro, gold; Michelle Carrabetta, silver. Julie Koszo and Peter Serles set provincial qualifying times.

MacRae, Cysneiros earn collegiate all-star honours
Oakville's Dan MacRae was named to the State University of New York all-conference first team. MacRae was one of five players from the Potsdam Bears to be named to the team MacRae, who made first team at the long stick middie spot, led the Bears with 47 groundballs during the season. He was also a pre-season SUNYAC all-star selection and was Potsdam's co-rookie of the year in 2007. Cysneiros honoured University of Montana freshman David Cysneiros earned an honourable mention for the AllBig Sky Conference tennis squad. Cysneiros, a first-year player from Oakville, Ontario, recorded a 15-10 (5-2 BSC) singles and a 10-10 (5-2 BSC) doubles mark. The Montana men's tennis team finished the year with an 8-9 overall mark, 3-5 in conference play.
