During the war years, the sidelines at football games often included former students, home on leave, proudly showing off their uniform. Bob Black had moved to Bronte from Forest Hill and so arranged a game one time with his former High school.
Football was the only team sport that Oakville High offered in my day. Hockey and baseball were "Town" sports. Basketball was a bonus for those attending St. John’s United Church on Dunn Street as it had the only basketball court in town.(I think the Anderson brothers took advantage of that).
