Notes:: Certificates were issued to Hamilton military personnel by the city of Hamilton in April 1940. The certificates, signed by Mayor William Robert Morrison, were also issued as pocket-sized replicas to be carried by the soldiers. The replicas were designed to act as identification as well as serving as a binding link with the home city of Hamilton.
