Description:: Edward M. Davis (left) joined the Royal Navy and was posted to HMS Illustrious as a Torpedo Bomber Pilot, serving early on in Sumatra, Sabang and Java.

Robert W. Davis (right) joined the Shipwright Branch of the Royal Canadian Navy. He supervised the repair of sea-damaged vessels in Halifax, and the construction of ships in Montreal, Kingston and Collingwood.
